The Wagon

Here's my winter beater / nasty weather / Home Depot / parts chaser / all around driver and beater. I picked up this car from a fellow club member who lives in Maine. The car is actually in pretty decent shape. Although, it is slightly confused as to what it is. It started life as a 1991 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. The previous owner wanted to keep the badges and grille, and I had planned to get rid of that stuff anyways, so now it wears a Caprice grille and Bowtie hood emblem. Doesn't say oldsmobile anywhere on it, at least not on the exterior. The car is great. It's fully loaded, leather seats, and everything works! It's got the most anemic powertrain ever offered in a 4900 pound boat, too. The wheezy 305 V8 and a 2.56 geared rear end. Can you say S-L-O-W??? But that's ok. I've got the caddy for when I want to go fast. And... it's only got 180,000 miles on it! Heh heh... Just barely broken in. ;)

I had some plans for it when I first bought it. Originally I wanted to Suede the paint (paint it flat black) with some pinstripe flames. I am still undecided on that though, as the paint came back to a luster fairly easily. I also plan to tint it and drop it. I've already built a custom intake for it to help it breathe a little better. The only other thing I had planned for it was getting the exhaust done. Just a simple 2.5" single with dual chrome tips straight out the back on the passenger side. Nice and simple...

So here's what it looked like when I bought it. Love the Vista Roof!!!

And here's what it looked like all cleaned up. I also put my Caddy's winter wheels on it. I think she cleaned up ok.

And then one day I got bored. So this is what 9 bucks worth of pinstriping tape and an hour's time got me. ;)

And here's a pic of the new intake. 3" PVC pipe and an intake elbow off of a FWD 89 Caddy Seville with the 4.5L engine. I'm actually quite surprised at how much this helped the car out!
